January is almost finished??

Wow.. How time flies.. I didn't realize I made my last entry on 31 Dec, so this is my first post of 2008. So, first off, Happy 2008 to everyone. A lot has been going on with work and home life, but nothing really worth writing about. Just your everyday non-stop work-home-work-home, etc. Although, I will admit, I got a new PC game for Christmas and I've been playing it a lot when I can get the free time. For anyone that games, it's called "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare." Awesome game. And the online play is unbelievable. Well the worth the money in my opinion.

This weekend, some "write worthy" stuff finally came up. The National Hockey League is having it's All-Star Game this weekend. And, it just so happens that Atlanta is hosting the weekend, so #1 Mom was able to score some tickets from some of her connections at work at the 11th hour. We didn't find out until late Friday that we were getting tickets to Saturday's event. During the NHL All-Star weekend, they have a "Skills" competition on Saturday and then the actual game on Sunday. The game is not normally a great game to watch. All the great names are there, but because it's more of an exhibition than it is a game, the hard hitting and the intensity isn't there that you would find in a regular season game. The reason to go is to watch all the big names in one place. The skills competition on Saturday is a different story. They guys get to "show off" and you get to see some things you wouldn't see in a regular game. I wanted tickets to the Skills competition more than I did the game and that's exactly what we got. So, I spent Saturday evening in Philips Arena in Atlanta watching the NHL All-Star Skills Competition with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew thanks to my darling bride.. It was a great time!!! I have never, and really hope to never see again, Philips Arena and CNN Center that packed with people. Very crowded!! But, had no problems with the crowds and we didn't even have any trouble getting out with the traffic afterwards. Just an overall great evening. If you ever get the chance to go, I highly recommend it.

Saturday morning, Heather and I took Ansley to the Mall up in Macon and to some other stores to do some shopping we needed to get done. When we were in the Mall, people were walking up to us and tell us how "precious" and "adorable" Ansley is. To be honest, that's one thing I never get tired of hearing. (Just being the proud Papa here) In some of the stores, she would go to the front window and wave out at the people walking by in the mall. People would wave and smile back. At one point, we were in Old Navy. Heather was looking around the store and Ansley wanted to go to the store front like she normally does. So, we walked up there and she starts her normal routine of watching and waving. A little bit into it, there is a lady with 4 kids standing outside the window. I see them looking at her and the lady looks up at me smiling and says something. They are outside the store and I couldn't read her lips, so I had no idea what she said. We were next to an outside door, so I opened the door to see what she said. Fully expecting to hear, "What a beautiful baby," or "She is so friendly," I asked the lady, "I'm sorry, what did you say?" She looked at me smiling and replied, "I said, your daughter is licking the window." Nice.
